Romero spent over two decades in financial services, holding Series 24, 7, 6, 63, and 66 licenses along the way — credentials that let him supervise, advise, and manage investments at the highest levels of the industry. But the more he worked directly with everyday families — people just trying to buy a first home, save for their kids, or retire with dignity — the clearer it became: most people don't need another advisor pitching products. They need someone willing to teach the fundamentals in plain language. So John set his licenses aside to focus fully on financial education, built specifically for hardworking people and those just starting their careers — the two groups handed the least guidance and asked to figure out the most.

Jordan Ver Hoeve brings a different kind of perspective. A working actor who also built a career in financial services — holding a Series 65 license as an investment adviser representative — he's lived both the creative grind and the world of money from the inside. He didn't inherit anything; he built his career and his financial expertise from zero. Like John, Jordan chose to step away from licensed advising to focus on something bigger: helping everyday people and early-career professionals build real financial confidence, without a sales pitch attached.

Together, they created Not Born Rich to hand people the blueprint neither of them had. Not hype. Not a get-rich-quick promise. Just real, practical financial education — for anyone building their future without a head start.
